What a fantastic night I had last Friday (10/06/2011)...
I was back in the loving embrace that is WAMA in High Wycombe, chatting away with Marco, Maria & George to name but a few. I was once again struck by the passion that simmers so near the surface of all the people involved in this excellent venue.

And before you ask, as so many people have, It was really Goldie, not a tribute or someone in the style of... it was the real deal, and with tickets been just £10 a head, it had to be the biggest bargain of the year as nights out go.
Now I have to admit, drum and bass is not really my cup of tea, as many of you know, a cup of tea is far more my cup of tea :)
But the night was amazing, all the support DJ's and MC's were stunning, and I was lead on a journey of discovery through the lands of dubstep, drum and bass and grimehouse, finishing up with a master class from the man himself.
Now, although the music may be different to my normal tastes, I do know a good DJ when I see one, and Goldie was incredible, the beats were mixed seamlessly, the mood was keep lively and energetic, he was really pitching the music to the mood of the crowd, and he stormed it...
If you weren't there, all I can say is you missed an incredible night...
Actually, I could also say, Where were you? I mean, the chance to see a top flight DJ like Goldie for just £10!!! Even if I hadn't of been there to do photos, I'd of jumped at the chance just for the experience.
WAMA has got some amazing things happening, and some absolutely amazing acts coming up soon, you can find out more about them here.
WAMA has to be one of the best clubs I know outside of the London scene, and it surely stands head and shoulders above any of the local music venues I know around High Wycombe.
Sometimes we get a bit swept up in the excitement of distant thrills, Goldie playing in London for instance would peak most of our attentions, so why not check him out locally..? Less travel, less cost, less hassle and a beautiful atmosphere in the club
If your not already, you should really get onboard with this, High Wycombe and the area has been crying out for years for a top music venue, and now it has one which is attracting top notch artists into its door's. Lets get behind it and make sure this becomes one of those legendary places that people talk about with hushed reverance...
"The100 club"
"The Electric Ballroom"
"The Water rats"
And surely, with some support, we can add "WAMA" to that list too..?
Check out whats happening there soon, and come on down...
I'll be there, and if you see me, say hi...
M
